Flight Number One Completed

Start from the beginning

We’ve landed in San Francisco for our short layover on our way through Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh City.

It is so early. The roads were empty.

The day started way before the crack of dawn at 3:00 am. My amazing sister-in-law, Tracey picked us all up and drove us to the airport. We breezed through check in and security. I was still anxious, as I always am when flying, but the lite crowds and our extra early start made the morning much easier on the nerves.

The flight to San Francisco was also easy and we arrived 35 minutes early. Yay!

Moving sidewalks are fun. But I need the exercise since we’re going to be sitting for 10 hours.

As we wandered down a very long terminal, we notice a cool “coffee house robot”. So of course I had to give it a try. Well... it was fascinating to watch the robot do it’s thing but in the end our coffee either didn’t get delivered through the pickup window or the computer said there was an error with the order. We got our money refunded in any event. Starbucks doesn’t have to worry just yet.

The future of the coffee house? No, not yet anyway.

We’re now waiting to board our next, and longest flight, 10+ hours, to Tokyo. I’ve loaded up my phone with many many hours of classic movies and YouTube videos. Hopefully the time will pass uneventfully.

My next post will be from Tokyo!
